early voters 50% voting for president obama. obama, 44% for mitt romney. election day that means mitt romney has to get 53% of the vote in florida if he's going to win. so that is a pretty hefty tag to run up. that's all according to the obama campaign. in iowa over a third of voters have already voted there. and among those early voters, you can see 64% of those are supporting barack obama. 35% of them are supporting mitt romney. and that means that mitt romney is going to need to win 59% of election-day voters. in north carolina, nearly half of all ballots have already been cast. and of those who have already been cast, 58% of those early voters favor the president. 41% of those favor mitt romney. so mitt romney is going to need to win 57% of north carolina on election day. we're seeing that pattern play out in the other swing states, too like nevada, virginia, wisconsin. so the republicans are trying to make up ground. in florida we're seeing this because republican leaders are on a two-day bus tour promoting early voting. here is romney florida campaign chairman adam putnam. >> we

candidates with just three days left to go until election day. barack obama and mitt romney are making the most of every minute. both are crisscrossing the country and hitting the crucial battleground states one last time. the president's first stop today was a rally in ohio where he told a cheering crowd that his economic ideas are working. he's also stumping in wisconsin, iowa, and virginia. all today. and as we mentioned, wisconsin is one of those critical swing states the candidates are concentrating on. and campaign workers on both sides are out knocking on doors, trying to get people to the polls. white house correspondent brianna keilar joining us live from milwaukee, wisconsin. it will be a while before the president speaks there, but you got a crowd and lots of music, nonetheless. >> that's right. and this crowd is eagerly awaiting not only the president but katy perry who will be performing a small concert before president obama. here in wisconsin it's all about for the obama campaign getting people out to vote now on election day. early voting wrapped up in this state yesterday,

romney camp did. they didn't mention, all day they didn't mention the 171,000, and you didn't hear the unemployment rate being discussed by the obama campaign. what we found on the road from florida all the way through the swing states, through virginia and to here is that largely people are interested in two things with employment, their own trend and their community's trend, right, because they know they prosper, particularly small businesses, if unemployment is lower in their community. we were in florida where the unemployment rate is higher than the national average, but housing had improved and things were looking better. we were in virginia where unemployment is lower, but a lot of that is due to government spending, and now we're in ohio where as you know, in youngston, that plant that was almost shut down, three shifts making the chevy crews. the toledo plant, they associate this with jobs and prosperity, and the auto industry and the other manufacturing industries, what you have is generations of people working in those industries so the trend does actually matter, and th

romney will make one more visit to virginia in the next three days before ballots are cast. big part of mitt romney's catch has been to military voters. the two biggest cities in virginia are virginia beach and norfolk. they both have enormous military populations. mitt romney has been telling them that if he is elected president, he will stop to sequester those automatic defense cuts. listen to this. >> the strong american military, so strong no one would think of testing it. so strong that people would rather meet us on the bargaining table than on the battlefield that is essential to us and to the world. unlike the president, i will will restore that funding to our military. >> mitt romney has also been in virginia to help george allen get elected to the u.s. senate. allen is a former senator and governor of virginia. and he is trailing right now in the real clear politics average of polls to another former governor of virginia. democrat tim cane by about 0.8 points. the two men have raised about $30 million combined. and more than 40 million will dollars has been spent by outside

couple of days has been on obama's side. i think since sandy hit it stopped mitt romney in his tracks and kind of paused the race for a couple of days. i have a hard time seeing all of the states break in one direction. it can happen certainly within the margin of error in all of the states but you look at the national map and battleground map that has president obama running fairly strongly and leading in most of the battleground states including critical, ohio. and it is hard to see how he gets blown out of the water by mitt romney. i don't see this as being a 300 plus electoral right for mitt romney. >> greta: he hangs his hat largely on the independents. that is why he says this is going to break for romneyly think the independents will break for romney. i doubt it will be that much. i agree with rick it will be tighter than that. i don't see romney winning, pennsylvania. i think he has got to win, ohio. the problem for romney is numbers among hispanics very poor. they were aiming for 38% of hispanics and they are in the low 20s now. can he win in the midwest where there ar
